On January 20th, 2017 I was fortunate enough to spend the day with the students of Central Educational Center in a Newnan, GA. The school had seen a LinkedIn post of mine about my life’s journey in Information Technology.
While there I spoke to 4 differing programing classes. I shared with them how I had attended a technical high school in information technology. We discussed where the field information technology is going, and what marketable skills to acquire.
A Raspberry Pi, Arduino, and NodeMCU microcontroller was demonstrated to the class, and an overview of how IoT data is collected, transported, stored, and analyzed in the cloud.
I want to thank Robin Witcher, the Computer Science Instructor for CEC for inviting me out.
Since that time, we’ve discuss course curriculum, and training. I look forward to speaking at more high schools about cloud, IoT, big data, and analysis.
